The 650-ton, 32-gun galleon Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza sank in less than 11 meters of water, north of Memory Rock on Little Bahama Bank.

Another ship in the fleet rescued 63 people out of 478 who were on board. When the salvage expedition arrived at the wreck site, the ship was completely covered by sand, and only two anchors were found. Another attempt was made to locate the ship in 1671 but to no avail.
